Tomorrow during 1st and 2nd hour, members of the Concert and Symphonic Band are encouraged to attend a performance by the Kansas State University Orchestra! This is a fantastic group that will give you an idea of what music making at the college is like! The catch is you need your teacher's permission. If you are in Sym Band, check with your 2nd hour teacher. If you are in Concert Band, ask your 1st hour teacher. I know, it is kind of a pain but I can assure you it will be worth it!
The sign-up for the April 4th Regional Solo and Ensemble Festival are posted in the back of the room. Registration is open until March 6th. This is a totally optional activity but South always has a ton of entries. If you are taking lessons, you are probably already working on your solo. Solos and ensembles have a 5 minute time limit (longer pieces can be edited). To register, you must include you piano accompanists name and email address. We will talk about all of the details in class and you can find more information in the Band Aid handbook that you can find under "Parent Boosters" at the top of this page. The important thing now is to sign-up if you plan on participating.
